Bristol Spirits Ltd., known particularly for our "Bristol Classic Rum" label, occupies a distinctive position within the Rum trade. While we are renowned for bottled offerings, our operations also involve sourcing and handling bulk Rum.

Sourcing and Selection:
Bristol Spirits is recognised for meticulous selection of Rum from various Distilleries around the world. This involves seeking out Rum with specific characteristics, often from single estates, single stills, or even single barrels.

This expertise in sourcing high-quality Rum inherently places us in a position where we handle bulk quantities of Rum, Cognac and Whisky.

Maturation:
For more than 30 years, Bristol Spirits Ltd. has procured bulk stock for ageing in cool, humid warehouses situated in Wickwar, Liverpool and Scotland.

Our comprehensive selection has been carefully matured in specially selected wood, including those enriched with distinctive flavours from Port, Madeira, Cognac, or the most sought-after, ex-Bourbon.

Guyana, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, Belize, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Fiji, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Panama, Reunion, Venezuela… all casks from the world’s most recognisable regions.

Casks are aged from 4 to 25 years old, ensuring exceptional quality.

Storage:
With our major move to a new storage now complete, it's time to enjoy the fresh environment for the precious wooden casks. All the barrels are securely placed on custom racking, stacked up to eight tiers high.

Each cask has its own unique barcode to ensure it can be carefully monitored, sampled and retrieved when needed.

Established in 2010, this ‘Spirits’ storage rapidly broadened its operations before relocating to a refurbished steelworks location near Creetown.

Our casks are located on a 15-acre site, which offers 6,500m² of storage capacity. With around 26 employees and the capability to hold 40,000 casks, additional warehousing was built in 2024.

bristol classic rum

Discover much, much more to Rum than the mass production favourites. Bristol Classic Rum aims to only source and bottle single still or single estate spirits. After careful maturation, all are then bottled at relatively high strength between 43% - 47%, which is considered by the Trade to be the optimum for tasting and enjoying fine spirits. Many of our Rums have been aged in specially-selected casks, drawing on the different benefits offered by woods such as Port, Madeira, ex-Bourbon white oak and new French oak.
